Service

Part of the mission of Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is to help build a foundation for students to use their God-given talents with courage to truly better the lives of others. In the Christ-centered environment at BSCS, every child is encouraged to be like Jesus in all aspects of their life. Through acts of kindness that the students perform in daily life, they become stewards of the Catholic Faith and impart on others their love, care and concern.

Service to others is embedded within the daily lessons and activities at Blessed Sacrament. The teachers encourage students to look for small ways to serve one another, help clean up around the school, make cards for elderly or homeless men and women, visit nursing homes, and much more. Students in middle school participate in required service hours by logging service within the community outside of school. Additionally, our school Service Committee helps coordinate school-wide service opportunities, such as the following:

  • Gabriel House Diaper Drive
  • Soles for Souls shoe collection
  • Winter coat drive
  • Operation Christmas Child
  • Pennies for Patients
  • Thanksgiving Food Drive
  • Quarters for Kids to support the Colfax Community Network
  • Fleece Blanket Project for Children’s Hospital
  • More!
