Middle School
At Blessed Sacrament Catholic School we recognize the unique social and emotional needs of our adolescent students. The holistic approach of the Middle School program is structured to form students in faith, morals, and a Catholic Worldview that will enable them to grow closer to the Lord and thinking critically from a Catholic perspective throughout life, prepare students for High School academically, as well as to help them developmentally build the bridge between childhood and young adulthood.
The educational approach is based on the following:
- A philosophy based on the unique needs and characteristics of the young adolescent
- Educators who are knowledgeable about, and committed to, the young adolescent
- Teachers who use varied instructional strategies including but not limited to individualized instruction, differentiated instruction, cooperative learning, problem-based learning, critical thinking, hands-on, and flipped classrooms
- An intigrated approach to utilizing technology in the classroom
- A logical transition from the self-contained classroom of the elementary school setting to the departmentalization of the high school setting
- A commitment to regular family involvement in the education of young adolescents, by keeping them informed of student progress and school programs
- A positive connection between the school and the community, accomplished through student service projects
- A faith-infused lens that guides instruction and development of the whole child
