EXTRACURRICULAR

At Blessed Sacarment Catholic School, learning does not stop when we step outside the doors, nor does it stop at 3PM at the end of the school day!

Extracurricular opportunities exist for students to further develop their skills in music with the Band and Choir programs, in civic endeavors through the scouting program, and in many other areas with a variety of enrichment offerings.

Programs typically occur for 1 hour after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays or at other scheduled times.

Enrichment Offerings

Enrichment opportunities are open to students in P2 – 8th Grade. Each trimester engaging and enriching activities are offered.

Please be on the lookout for Enrichment class registration.

Offerings for the following trimester will be publicized in advance of the registration date.

Band

The Blessed Sacrament Catholic School Band is open to 4th – 8th grade students and currently meets year-round after school.

The program consists of drums and a wind ensemble including the following instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone (alto and tenor, as well soprano and baritone), Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba. No prior knowledge of music or instruments is necessary.

Band students learn to read and play a wide variety of music. Students participate in two performances annually: The Christmas Program and Spring Fine Arts Night where modern pop pieces are showcased.

Mr. Steve Sommerville, the Band Director began playing in 5th grade and highly encourages this creative outlet to all students who have an ear for, or simply an interest in music. For more information, contact the Main Office.
