Principal

Principal – Dr. Carla Dire Capstick

Carla Dire Capstick, Ph. D. came to Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in 2014 as Principal.

Dr. Capstick (affectionately known to everyone as Dr. C.) received Bachelor of Arts and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees from the University of Denver, and a Master of Arts degree and principal licensure from the University of Phoenix.

A former U.S. History and AP U.S. Government and Politics teacher, Dr. C. has been an administrator since 2004. Since then, she has served as Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Principal for 8 years. Dr. Capstick has served as faculty at Regis University since 2008 and is currently an adjunct professor there.

As a Professional Development Trainer, Dr. C. has trained teachers across the country for 5 years. She has worked with exceptionally high achievers, as well as low performers.

Dr. C. has written curriculum at the national and school district levels in history and government, Response to Intervention, (part of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), and pedagogy,

Dr. C. has written and published articles in education magazines and is the author of a children’s book entitled, “Beasley Finds a Home”. She is currently writing the next “Beasley” book.

On the personal side, Dr. C enjoys spending time outdoors playing tennis and golf in the summer and skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. She plays the piano and writes poetry. Dr. C. is happily married to her high school sweetheart, Bob, who works at Regis Jesuit High School. Dr. C. and Mr. Capstick have two beautiful daughters (and two awesome son-in-laws) and a wonderful son (and lovely daughter-in-law) who have provided them four grandsons and three granddaughters (which they delight in spoiling!)!
